Flynn O’Driscoll has acted on two acquisitions by WTech Fire Group Limited (“WTech”) since the beginning of 2023. The group’s acquisition of Dublin-based Ideal Fire Limited in September is their third of the year and the 5th since Waterland Private Equity took a majority stake in 2021.
Our Corporate team earlier in the year also advised on the acquisition of Wilec Fire and Security. The deal team of David Ryan (Partner, Corporate & Commercial) and Alison Kenny (Associate, Corporate & Commercial) & Amanda O’Connell (Trainee, Corporate & Commercial) were delighted to be involved in WTech’s continuing growth story and pursuit of excellence in the industry. The corporate team was assisted by Eliza O’Grady (Property), Kate Duffy and Caoimhe Heery (Employment), Laura Myles, Nolene Treacy and Hannah Lynch (IP/IT) and Danny Heffernan (Banking & Finance).
With this acquisition, WTech’s employee numbers are expected to reach 580. Ideal Fire was set up a decade ago to offer scheduled preventive maintenance services for fire alarm systems, emergency lighting systems, fire extinguishers, automatic opening vents, and gas suppression systems.
"We are delighted to complete the acquisitions of Ideal Fire, Wilec and Jem Pumps," said Ted Wright, CEO of WTech Fire Group.
"These developments mark an important step in our growth strategy and reinforces our dedication to providing unmatched fire protection services for our clients. The new addition to our family bolsters our unwavering commitment to becoming the absolute best in the industry.”
