Our Media & Entertainment team have provided pre-publication legal advice to Disney+ and FXN on the new thriller series ‘Say Nothing’.

‘Say Nothing’ is a 9-episode drama/thriller limited series adapted from the non-fiction book ‘Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland’ by Patrick Radden Keefe.  Spanning four decades, the series explores the extremes of involvement by IRA members during the troubles in Northern Ireland.

“It’s about two Catholic sisters in Belfast who join the IRA, and then you follow them on a thirty-year journey. That pitch doesn’t exactly make a studio executive see dollar signs,” says Josh Zetumer, Say Nothing’s first-time showrunner. Although since its release, the show has received widespread acclaim from critics and has also attained a rating of 8.4 out of 10 on IMDB and 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, the two most popular online databases for film and tv.

The show was released on Disney+ and Hulu earlier this month.

Partner, and recent ‘The Legal 100’ top Irish lawyer, Kieran Kelly provided the legal review for Say Nothing working alongside Caroline Kean of Wiggin LLP who advised on UK law.
