Flynn O'Driscoll LLP has once again been ranked the number one Irish law firm for M&A by deal volume for 2023, by respected global information services group Experian’s M&A monitor division, MarketIQ.

After a relatively subdued first quarter, the Irish M&A market picked up considerable pace as the year progressed, bucking the global trend for declining deal activity. A bumper Q4, where 227 transactions were announced – the largest quarterly total on Experian record.

The firm’s continued performance as one of Ireland’s leading M&A legal advisers saw it advise on some of the leading deals in the market over the past year including advising Waterland Private Equity on its acquisitions of Gaffney Mechanical and Orbital Welding Solutions. WriTech Fire Group on its acquisitions of Ideal Fire and Wilec Fire and Security, and ETL Global on two acquisitions of Irish accountancy firms, Noone Casey and DMB Accountants.

Commenting on the result, Alan O' Driscoll, corporate partner said:

"We are very pleased to retain our number 1 ranking at the top of the Experian league table for the second year in a row. The firm's top ranking is a reflection of the strength of Flynn O’Driscoll's M&A teams. 2023 was a very active year in M&A despite some challenging market conditions. The firm is proud of our talented and hard-working teams and very thankful to all our clients for instructing us on complex and interesting domestic and international transactions. We look forward to another busy year ahead.”
