Marama Labs, the deep-tech startup rooted in New Zealand and Ireland specialising in novel spectroscopy technology for chemical analysis of complex liquids in industries including winemaking and life sciences, has closed a seed-plus round of €1.75 million.
The Corporate team from Flynn O’Driscoll advised the founders of Marama Labs on their funding led by The Yield Lab, a European Agritech venture capital firm.
This investment will allow Marama Labs to scale up hardware manufacturing for its patented CloudSpec spectroscopy instrumentation and cloud software data analytics tool.
The technology is revolutionary for the winemaking industry allowing them to test samples of water early in the process to measure with specificity how a wine might taste. This investment round will also allow Marama to expand into the Life Sciences market.
Dr. Brendan Darby, CEO and co-founder, expressed confidence in the company’s future, stating, “2024 will be a seminal year for Marama as we continue creating value for our winemaking customers and expand CloudSpec into the rapidly growing life-sciences market.”
The Corporate team advising Marama Labs on their funding included Alan O’Driscoll, Jonathan O’Beirne and Patrick Shaw.
